Quality Manager
Mission of this role:
Responsible for planning, leadership the implementation, maintenance, and development of quality system. Responsible for the resource planning to support the quality activities implementation. Site supervision of the quality team located in the technical center in Japan in collaborating of Asia Quality Management Team – include Customer Quality, Failure Analysis and Quality System.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall Japan quality performance and resource meeting customer and internal requirements. Site supervision of the quality team located in the Japan engineering center.
- Ensure the quality function is properly staffed with the right level of competence by training and development, and with the right quality culture including value and behavior. Promote the quality culture within the entire engineering center.
- Set and monitor the quality performance indicators accordingly to global policies. Drive improvement activities on meeting the quality targets.
- Ensure customer satisfactory on handling customer quality related activities during development, serial production, and service parts.
- Follow up closely with manufacture plant and engineering in handling customer claim with timely manner. Drive the nonconformance investigation and problem solving per company standards. Lead the yokoten and lessons learn activities.
- Lead the customer APAP and PPAP activities during development, as well as change management during serial production.
- Act as management representative interfacing with customers located in Japan. Cascading customer and internal requirements to manufacture plant and engineering and ensure meeting the requirements.
- Develop, implement, and support the systems that deliver quality: Quality Management System (QMS), Veoneer Product Development Systems, Yokoten, Jidoka etc.
- Work together with engineering leadership to ensure the engineering center’s creation, implementation and adherence of global and local standards.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Preferably 3-5 years’ experience in electronics design.
- Depending on size of facility, requires 3-10 years management experience in supervising/managing projects and people including collaborating with other stakeholders (up, down, across) in achieving results.
Technical skills required:
- Knowledge of automotive quality system (IATF 16949) and practical experience of quality manuals (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP).
- Utilizes problem solving activities for understanding effects of quality decisions on other area of the facility.
- Knowledge in Quality tools (5Why, FTA, 4M, 8D, etc.)
- Knowledge of ELE process and manufacturing plants.
- Knowledge of Customer specific requirement and guidelines (ANPQP, SQM) and PCBA manufacture process.
- Knowledge of engineering quality is a plus (A-SPICE, functional safety ISO 26262 etc).
Communication:
- The candidate must be keen to build strong communication bridges within engineering centres, overseas manufacture plants and accommodate cultural differences.
- The candidate can be flexible and liaise with EU/US despite the time zone difference.
- Strong English command required (TOEIC>700)
